The Borneo Sikh Games are more than just sport. Every two years, they bring together Sikh families and friends from Labuan, Miri, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Brunei to celebrate culture, heritage, and the deep bonds that unite us. The Games, now in their 8th edition, rotate between host cities across Borneo and have become a proud tradition of fellowship and friendship for our community.
This year, we were thrilled to gather in beautiful Kuching, Sarawak, from 28th to 31st August 2025. The energy was unforgettable from the warmth of the hosts and the smiles of old friends to the fierce but friendly competition, you could truly feel the spirit of togetherness in the air.
Our Journey: Sweat, Spirit, and Smiles
SAIB stepped onto the fields, courts, and alleyways with big hearts and determination. We competed in Bowling, Badminton, Volleyball, and Tug of War, while our Bhangra team brought colour and joy to the closing dinner with a performance that had everyone cheering.
Here’s how we fared:
-
🏆 Tug of War – Champions for the fifth consecutive year, triumphing over the Kuching host team. A huge salute to every player who gave their all.
-
🎳 Bowling – For the first time ever, we claimed third place — a proud milestone for SAIB.
-
🏐 Volleyball – Our team fought with heart and secured third place, every point earned through grit and teamwork.
-
🏸 Badminton – It wasn’t our day, but each match gave us lessons and fuel to come back stronger.
-
💃 Bhangra – Our performers lit up the night with an energetic display of culture, pride, and joy.
